Clips from Seinfeld - The Cheever Letters (S04E04)
"BICs? What, did you get BICs?"
Seinfeld
"What, you got a problem with the pen, now?"
Seinfeld
"All right, let's just get to work."
Seinfeld
"Act 1, Scene A."
Seinfeld
"Let me explain to you..."
Seinfeld
"...one of the key elements involved in the writing process."
Seinfeld
"Because it may seem outwardly..."
Seinfeld
"...that the pen and the paper and the chair play a large role."
Seinfeld
"All right. Act 1, Scene A."
Seinfeld
"- All right. Here we go. - Act 1, Scene A."
Seinfeld
"Hi, is Elaine there?"
Seinfeld
"Oh, hi, Sandra."
Seinfeld
"Yeah, I can hold."
Seinfeld
"There's a lot of people waiting to use it."
Seinfeld
"I'll be off in a minute!"
Seinfeld
"Is there any way I can get you directly?"
Seinfeld
"Every time I call, Sandra bends my ear for, like, 20 minutes."
Seinfeld
"So we're on for later?"
Seinfeld
"Yeah, I'll come by after work."
Seinfeld
"I gotta go. I gotta go."
Seinfeld
"- You got it? Here we go. - Yeah."
Seinfeld
"It's beautiful."
Seinfeld
"Could you do me a favour?"
Seinfeld
"When my friends call..."
Seinfeld
"Why, did Jerry say something?"
Seinfeld
"He must've said something."
Seinfeld
"Oh, no, he didn't say anything."
Seinfeld
"- I can't work for you. - Oh, God."
Seinfeld
"- I can't. I'm leaving. - No, Sandra..."
Seinfeld
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I really am."
Seinfeld
"Listen, Jerry's under a lot of pressure right now."
Seinfeld
"It's very hard being a stand-up comedian."
Seinfeld
"- We're trying to do a little work here. - Yeah, come on."
Seinfeld
"What's with you?"
Seinfeld
"- No more golf. - Why?"
Seinfeld
"What are you, crazy?"
Seinfeld
"I can't ask the guy for more cigars after you burned down his cabin."
Seinfeld
"Kramer, please."
Seinfeld
"I mean, you know what that's like? It's crowded."
Seinfeld
"The grass has big brown patches in it."
Seinfeld
"They don't rake the sand traps."
Seinfeld
"Not to mention the calibre of people you have to play with."
Seinfeld
"I can't help you. You're gonna have to get them someplace else."
Seinfeld
"Where? They're Cubans."
Seinfeld
"I gotta go to Susan's parents' house for dinner."
Seinfeld
"I wanna shower first, and I wanna leave plenty of time."
Seinfeld
"You got four hours. What about the script?"
Seinfeld
"I think we got a bite on it."
Seinfeld
"Doesn't George look like your sister Sara?"
Seinfeld
"Her son's a podiatrist, you know."
Seinfeld
"I mean, to dedicate yourself to the foot..."
Seinfeld
"You're toiling in virtual anonymity. I mean..."
Seinfeld
"How are you enjoying those cigars I gave you?"
Seinfeld
"Oh, the cigars."
Seinfeld
"I'm sucking them down."
Seinfeld
"- What? - He's doing Johnny Carson, Daddy."
Seinfeld
"I didn't care much for his jokes."
Seinfeld
"- Daddy never laughs. - Oh, well, so what?"
Seinfeld
"Laughter. What is that?"
Seinfeld
"I mean, what is the point of opening your mouth and going:"
Seinfeld
"You know, you can't get those cigars anywhere."
Seinfeld
"You and your cigars."
Seinfeld
"Daddy, there's- There's something that we have to talk to you about."
Seinfeld
"Oh, I forgot to ask you: how'd you like the cabin?"
Seinfeld
"Oh, the- The cabin."
Seinfeld
"Well..."
Seinfeld
"After we get off the phone you tell her?"
Seinfeld
"- Oh, this is unbelievable. - I know."
Seinfeld
"I screwed up. It's all my fault."
Seinfeld
"I was just trying to help you."
Seinfeld
"Trying to help me."
Seinfeld
"Hi, this is Jerry Seinfeld."
Seinfeld
"...that it was a real treat talking to you on the phone."
Seinfeld
"And she thought I was being sarcastic because I'm a comedian, and all."
Seinfeld
"She thought, I think, Yeah, it's a real treat talking to her on the phone."
Seinfeld
"Yeah, I know where that is."
Seinfeld
"Okay. I'll see you there. Okay, bye."
Seinfeld
"The cabin."
Seinfeld
"Well..."
Seinfeld
"- About the cabin- - I love that place."
Seinfeld
"My father built that cabin in 1947."
Seinfeld
"...and Dad thought it would be a good idea to get her out into the fresh air."
Seinfeld
"And Dad passed away 10 years later to the day."
Seinfeld
"His last words to me were:"
Seinfeld
"Cherish the cabin."
Seinfeld
"But, Cherish the cabin."
Seinfeld
"And I have, for 45 years."
Seinfeld
"Kind of like Superman's Fortress of Solitude."
Seinfeld
"Superman."
Seinfeld
"He built a Fortress of Solitude up at the North Pole..."
Seinfeld
"...to, you know, sort of get away from it all."
Seinfeld
"When I go, I'm passing it on to her."
Seinfeld
"Well, I'll take a hotel any day."
Seinfeld
"- Daddy? - Yes."
Seinfeld
"Daddy, about the cabin."
Seinfeld
"Look, Henry, I spilled wine on me."
Seinfeld
"- What? What is it? - Well, the cabin is kind of..."
Seinfeld
"- George? - Burned."
Seinfeld
"- Burned? - There was a fire, and it-"
Seinfeld
"- The cabin burned? - Yeah, burned."
Seinfeld
"Was anything found?"
Seinfeld
"Was it all burned to the ground? Did they find anything?"
Seinfeld
"...what with it being your cigars and everything..."
Seinfeld
"...it's really rather ironic."
Seinfeld
"- I can't believe you said that. - What?"
Seinfeld
"How could you say something like that to me?"
Seinfeld
"What? You were the one who was talking dirty."
Seinfeld
"I was just trying to keep up."
Seinfeld
"- That was a weird thing to say. - Why? It didn't mean anything."
Seinfeld
"- Oh, I think you're really sick. - I'm not sick."
Seinfeld
"Excuse me."
Seinfeld
"The main thing is that this is just between us."
Seinfeld
"- And that'll be the end of it. - Oh, really?"
Seinfeld
"So we're drinking and talking."
Seinfeld
"And so she starts rubbing my leg."
Seinfeld
"- Yeah. Right. - I know it's the wrong thing to do."
Seinfeld
"She works in Elaine's office. But I can't get that hand off my leg."
Seinfeld
"Would you mind?"
Seinfeld
"Yet women have no problem getting the hand off. How do they do that?"
Seinfeld
"I don't know. They're working on a whole other level."
Seinfeld
