"Oh!"
Magnum, P.I.
"You don't remember where you parked the car, do you?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Of course I remember where I parked the car. Mm-hmm."
Magnum, P.I.
"See?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Come on. Let's get this thing going. They'll never catch us in this."
Magnum, P.I.
"Why'd you set the alarm? Why'd I set the alarm? Look around you."
Magnum, P.I.
"[ Man On Phone ] Hey, Mano, two guys just blew through here. They tore this place apart."
Magnum, P.I.
"I'm pretty sure they're private heat. They had that look, you know?"
Magnum, P.I.
"He said he was looking for a Hawaiian hanging out with a blonde chick."
Magnum, P.I.
"Sounds a lot like your new prize."
Magnum, P.I.
"I told you to be careful with that one."
Magnum, P.I.
"Find out who they are and what they want."
Magnum, P.I.
"What's wrong?"
Magnum, P.I.
"All right."
Magnum, P.I.
"Would you mind telling me about this lady we almost got killed over?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Her name is Linda Booton, and I have to find her..."
Magnum, P.I.
"before the headmaster flies in tomorrow."
Magnum, P.I.
"- Say what? - The headmaster from St. Helen's."
Magnum, P.I.
"Actually, I didn't get the call. Rick got the call."
Magnum, P.I.
"He told me to meet this woman at the state capitol building, which is what I did."
Magnum, P.I.
"Only when I got there, this woman turned out..."
Magnum, P.I.
"to be five little girls from Vermont who'd lost their schoolteacher."
Magnum, P.I.
"That's Linda. See but, she really wasn't lost."
Magnum, P.I.
"She just took up with a Hawaiian beach bum for the night."
Magnum, P.I.
"Anyway, like they said,"
Magnum, P.I.
"she shouldn't be punished for her passion, so I took the case."
Magnum, P.I.
"- Let me out. - What?"
Magnum, P.I.
"T.C., I think you're overreacting."
Magnum, P.I.
"I always do when I'm riding around with a lunatic."
Magnum, P.I.
"Wait. T.C.!"
Magnum, P.I.
"I don't think it's safe to leave you in this part of town, T.C."
Magnum, P.I.
"Hey, T.C., come on back."
Magnum, P.I.
"We'll eat at the Blue Lagoon!"
Magnum, P.I.
"On me!"
Magnum, P.I.
"[ Magnum Narrating ] If T.C. didn't want to eat at the Blue Lagoon,"
Magnum, P.I.
"Oh, well. He probably wouldn't want to follow up my next lead anyway."
Magnum, P.I.
"just look at you. Every time that boy calls,"
Magnum, P.I.
"you're the one that winds up with your behind in the fire."
Magnum, P.I.
"Man, you must be out your mind."
Magnum, P.I.
"[ Magnum Narrating ] I did a little thinking after T.C. left..."
Magnum, P.I.
"and decided the clues that the girls had given me weren't really clues,"
Magnum, P.I.
"but ways to shorten my life expectancy. ??[ Christmas Instrumental ]"
Magnum, P.I.
"Going back to their hotel was my only hope."
Magnum, P.I.
"Hi."
Magnum, P.I.
""Fruit of Passion. '" I didn't know Robin Masters wrote agronomy novels."
Magnum, P.I.
"Huh? Uh, Miss Linda Booton."
Magnum, P.I.
"She checked in about three days ago with five little girls."
Magnum, P.I.
"Yeah?"
Magnum, P.I.
"You remember them? Not for five lousy bucks."
Magnum, P.I.
"Well, kind of."
Magnum, P.I.
"Do you remember Miss Booton's boyfriend?"
Magnum, P.I.
"He's a big, Hawaiian lifeguard type. He might've picked her up here."
Magnum, P.I.
"Mmm. Yeah, maybe."
Magnum, P.I.
"How about a license number or a telephone number she might've called,"
Magnum, P.I.
"or some messages, something that might lead me to her?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Yeah, I think so."
Magnum, P.I.
"For another five, I can give you a number that'd take you right to her."
Magnum, P.I.
"I'd have to write a check."
Magnum, P.I.
"Room 2 409. She's been in all night."
Magnum, P.I.
"I could've had that for nothing."
Magnum, P.I.
"[ Magnum Narrating ] So far, this case had cost me my right to the wine cellar,"
Magnum, P.I.
"the last cash in my pocket and nearly my life."
Magnum, P.I.
"If that clerk was lying to me, I was gonna come back down here..."
Magnum, P.I.
"and shove that Robin Masters paperback in his ear."
Magnum, P.I.
"[ Woman ] Who is it? Miss Booton?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Who is it? Thomas Magnum."
Magnum, P.I.
"I think I have something of yours."
Magnum, P.I.
"Come in."
Magnum, P.I.
"Oh, those little brats!"
Magnum, P.I.
"A beachboy."
Magnum, P.I.
"At Easter in Yellowstone it was a forest ranger."
Magnum, P.I.
"And at Thanksgiving in New York it was a cab driver."
Magnum, P.I.
"Where are their parents?"
Magnum, P.I.
"They're spread out all over the world."
Magnum, P.I.
"Some of them are too isolated to get together with them at holidays."
Magnum, P.I.
"And the rest of them would just rather pay me to take care of them."
Magnum, P.I.
"So these little girls just make up these stories about you running off with some man?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Isn't that something?"
Magnum, P.I.
"There is just no limit to their imagination."
Magnum, P.I.
"If you really were here, aren't you worried about them?"
Magnum, P.I.
"- It's almost midnight. - That late?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Yes, it is. You'd think you'd want to check up on them."
Magnum, P.I.
"Those kids have been running around loose since this afternoon."
Magnum, P.I.
"Wait a minute. I'm sorry that you got dragged into this,"
Magnum, P.I.
"but don't come in here and start telling me how I should take care of them."
Magnum, P.I.
"They told me that they were spending the day..."
Magnum, P.I.
"and having dinner with the governor's daughter."
Magnum, P.I.
"A limo actually... picked them up at 2:00. [ Ringing ]"
Magnum, P.I.
"[ Ringing Continues ]"
Magnum, P.I.
"- Your phone's ringing. - Hello."
Magnum, P.I.
"No, this isn't Nancy, but Merry Christmas to you too."
Magnum, P.I.
"The wrong number."
Magnum, P.I.
"Well, Nancy, is it a go?"
Magnum, P.I.
"I think so."
Magnum, P.I.
"- [ Magnum ] How long have you been teaching art? - Three years."
Magnum, P.I.
"Really? You ought to see the Gauguin that Robin Masters just bought."
Magnum, P.I.
"I think you'd really like it."
Magnum, P.I.
"Gauguin. Sure I would."
Magnum, P.I.
"Does my driving bother you? No."
Magnum, P.I.
"You seem nervous. No, you're a great driver."
Magnum, P.I.
"You drive great."
Magnum, P.I.
"Well, some people don't like to be taken for a ride."
Magnum, P.I.
"Anyway, ever since we got the Gauguin, Higgins--"
Magnum, P.I.
"The place is harder to get into than a safe."
Magnum, P.I.
"I'd certainly hope so."
Magnum, P.I.
"No, not right offhand."
Magnum, P.I.
"He said they're easier to break out of than into."
Magnum, P.I.
"Oh, really? Houdini said that?"
Magnum, P.I.
"Houdini."
Magnum, P.I.
"[ Girls Whispering ]"
Magnum, P.I.
"- Hi, guys. - Miss Booton."
Magnum, P.I.
"First of all, please don't be mad at the girls."
Magnum, P.I.
"They were really only trying to help me out."
Magnum, P.I.
"Second of all,"
Magnum, P.I.
"that Gauguin is a fake."
Magnum, P.I.
"- Remarkable. She's even better than you are. - No, really, it's a fake."
Magnum, P.I.
"We weren't trying to steal the Gauguin. We were trying to return it."
Magnum, P.I.
"How'd you ever find her?"
Magnum, P.I.
"- We gave you some really rotten leads. - That's how."
Magnum, P.I.
"- Higgins! - If you'd given him a decent lead,"
Magnum, P.I.
