"Building a hospital, wow."
The O.C.
"I don't know. I guess it just needed to sink in."
The O.C.
"I forgot to ask, actually. I was just kind of spinning."
The O.C.
"- We'll practice whatever you need. - Yeah."
The O.C.
"- Gotta go. - Oh, I better go too."
The O.C.
"- I am so proud of you. - Thanks."
The O.C.
"...then I get this interview and it kind of hit me."
The O.C.
"- Like, I'm leaving Newport. - So you're having second thoughts."
The O.C.
"Dude, I planned my first escape on an Etch A Sketch. This is my dream."
The O.C.
"It's just... I don't know, now it's real."
The O.C.
"No, I'm fine. Seriously, this is just my process."
The O.C.
"- Show some excitement. - No, it's amazing, it's just..."
The O.C.
"Leaving Newport, your friends and family, and going somewhere new in September?"
The O.C.
"...to Newport's affluent and less affluent neighborhoods, the whole community."
The O.C.
"Just give us the green light."
The O.C.
"- I only wish Caleb could've been here. - Thanks, Bill."
The O.C.
"We'll contact you when we've made our decision."
The O.C.
"What?"
The O.C.
"I'm worried that we've handicapped ourselves."
The O.C.
"But what it could all come down to is who Bill Merriam likes more."
The O.C.
"...and not to his taste for pinot."
The O.C.
"That's China. She has alopecia."
The O.C.
"She looks like a giant Chihuahua."
The O.C.
"As long as it comes with diamond earrings, I'm sure Kaitlin will be happy."
The O.C.
"I guess."
The O.C.
"...and I have to go to college, and that's it."
The O.C.
"Cirque du Soleil?"
The O.C.
"We had presents, games, a petting zoo."
The O.C.
"My whole family together."
The O.C.
"We'd stay up late and eat cake and watch The Sound of Music."
The O.C.
"I guess as long as we still do that, the rest doesn't really matter."
The O.C.
"No."
The O.C.
"You're not gonna tell her, are you?"
The O.C.
"You mean since we had our midnight swim?"
The O.C.
"Yeah, I guess I'm old-fashioned."
The O.C.
"Well, let's enjoy the time that we have. I'm just happy we're finally meeting."
The O.C.
"After you postponed twice, I thought maybe you'd changed your mind."
The O.C.
"So, what finally tipped the scale?"
The O.C.
"I know this terrible burger joint. Even the owner avoids it."
The O.C.
"We'll be totally alone."
The O.C.
"Look, you're about to begin this great adventure..."
The O.C.
"...and you have no idea what's gonna happen."
The O.C.
"I'm sorry. It's the hospital board."
The O.C.
"I'm sorry."
The O.C.
"Hey, Kaitlin."
The O.C.
"I have a business dinner. It's totally annoying."
The O.C.
"We've got plans Sunday."
The O.C.
"- Kaitlin. - No, seriously."
The O.C.
"I hardly even remembered, myself."
The O.C.
"- What's wrong? - Oh, Bill Merriam called."
The O.C.
"- What do you mean? - I just know that when you wooed me..."
The O.C.
"...there was no caviar and champagne and you did all right."
The O.C.
"I should take Bill Merriam out for pizza and bad wine in the back of a mail truck."
The O.C.
"I mean, show him who you are beyond schedules and budgets."
The O.C.
"What are you doing here?"
The O.C.
"Well, you know what? I'm sure your mom feels really bad."
The O.C.
"Can you imagine growing up with Marissa Cooper as your older sister?"
The O.C.
"We just bumped into each other. Two ships passing."
The O.C.
"It seemed like we hadn't talked for a while."
The O.C.
"I know. What are you doing tonight? Because we were all gonna go out."
The O.C.
"Kaitlin, I know you're upset about last night, but..."
The O.C.
"Is Summer here?"
The O.C.
"No, I think she's at Seth's."
The O.C.
"Tomorrow's Kaitlin's birthday. I can't believe it slipped my mind."
The O.C.
"I'd like to give her a small party."
The O.C.
"And I get to see you. What do you say?"
The O.C.
"- I say... - Wonderful."
The O.C.
"I've got a couple of minutes. Why don't I give you a tour. Come on."
The O.C.
"If I say something I don't believe in, I could end up with the wrong life."
The O.C.
"I think she'll be fine."
The O.C.
"...and in those moments you wouldn't have appreciated it. Who does, right?"
The O.C.
"So where do I see myself in 10 years?"
The O.C.
"I'll get you some water."
The O.C.
"Look who's talking."
The O.C.
"...of neighborhoods around the hospital. - You're kidding."
The O.C.
"Ours would serve more people."
The O.C.
"I'll tell Bill Merriam that he'll have a day he'll never forget."
The O.C.
"How's it going with Kaitlin?"
The O.C.
"Oh, my God, Marissa. I totally forgot you were gonna be here."
The O.C.
"So you two are just hanging out?"
The O.C.
"I knew she was gonna freak out like this."
The O.C.
"Whatever."
The O.C.
"I'm sorry."
The O.C.
"She wasn't jealous."
The O.C.
"- Kaitlin, I'm not sure about this. - But I thought you liked me."
The O.C.
"I do, but..."
The O.C.
"- Fifteen tomorrow. - Still."
The O.C.
"I can live with that."
The O.C.
"- Hey. - Oh, my God."
The O.C.

The O.C.
"Yeah, well, I ran into him yesterday..."
The O.C.
"...and I mentioned it was Kaitlin's birthday, and voilà."
The O.C.
"He couldn't take no for an answer."
The O.C.
"Sure. Sounds great."
The O.C.
"- Fine. - Okay, thanks."
The O.C.
"Knock, knock."
The O.C.
"You know, people used to say that about her and Luke."
The O.C.
"- Life's weird, huh? - Yeah."
The O.C.
"- What's up? - I need your advice."
The O.C.
"No, why would she mind?"
The O.C.
"...so why would it matter if we hang out, if they're just friends?"
The O.C.
"Because it seems like you're mad at Marissa..."
The O.C.
"You know, I'm sorry that you feel that way."
The O.C.
"God knows I have my talents. Cooking is not one of them."
The O.C.
"We've hardly had a real date. We haven't even kissed."
The O.C.
"I think he could change the marble in the entrance hall, and the furniture..."
The O.C.
"Great. Thank you."
The O.C.
"Here you go. Newport's finest churro."
The O.C.
"- I wanted you to get a sense of that. - Mission accomplished."
The O.C.
"All right. We're losing him."
The O.C.
"So come on."
The O.C.
"And I'm so grateful."
The O.C.
"Marissa, Kaitlin, look who's here."
The O.C.
