Clips from The O.C. - The Way We Were (S02E02)
"We should keep the boat for another month, and we go down to Cabo."
The O.C.
"Come on. I'll manage my portfolio online,"
The O.C.
"and, you know, this way the summer never has to end."
The O.C.
"You know? Right? Am I right?"
The O.C.
"- Right. - Right."
The O.C.
"So, I put this schedule together for you, which you'll probably hate, which is fine."
The O.C.
"I'm sure it's okay. Thanks."
The O.C.
"I based it on the schedule from last year."
The O.C.
"- Nice GPA, by the way. - Really? Thanks."
The O.C.
"So, is there anything missing? Favorite subject, favorite teacher?"
The O.C.
"You know, Ryan, it's not too early to start thinking about colleges."
The O.C.
"Uh, thanks, but I can't really afford college, and I'm not about to let the Cohens pay for it."
The O.C.
"Ryan, you have great test scores, a solid GPA."
The O.C.
"The question is: what do you want?"
The O.C.
"How do you mean?"
The O.C.
"Well, um, what do you like? What are you interested in?"
The O.C.
"Seriously, I don't know."
The O.C.
"I have an assignment for you."
The O.C.
"and everything you don't like about them, and most importantly, why."
The O.C.
"Miss Fisher, I'm sure this schedule is fine, really."
The O.C.
"You'll find out. Let me know."
The O.C.
"All right, I'll see you tomorrow."
The O.C.
"Yep."
The O.C.
"Love letter to Marissa?"
The O.C.
"But then again, I didn't get a warm, cinematic embrace from anyone when I got to school either."
The O.C.
"- Did you guys talk at least? - Yeah, we sure did."
The O.C.
"Sailing club, film club, and, wait for it, wait for it..."
The O.C.
"comic book club. Check it out. Huh?"
The O.C.
"The power to be handsome. What do you think?"
The O.C.
"No, Ryan, it doesn't. Listen, Spider Man 2. Do you know how much money that made at the box office?"
The O.C.
"We're not outcasts anymore, okay? We're edgy. We're like trailblazers."
The O.C.
"Well, I need to get involved on this, get involved, get on board, you, me, comic book club, okay?"
The O.C.
"And hopefully others. Pass those out. I need you to pass those out. Thank you."
The O.C.
"Hey, guys. A comic book league. Check it out."
The O.C.
"Today's topic: "Capes: Fey or kind of cool"?"
The O.C.
"Ryan, you'd better be passing those out, my man!"
The O.C.
"Do you want to go get lunch after this?"
The O.C.
"I should probably get back to school."
The O.C.
"Well, it's just... him and Cohen- they just can't think"
The O.C.
"That's the yard guy's, and he's blocking my car in the driveway again."
The O.C.
"Hey, hey! DJ, you're blocking my car."
The O.C.
"Do not honk at DJ. He's hot."
The O.C.
"I'll see you back at school."
The O.C.
"- What are you doing in here? - I work here."
The O.C.
"So go."
The O.C.
"I can't, I'm sorry. It's just..."
The O.C.
"What are you drinking? Did you spike your latte?"
The O.C.
"What am I supposed to say to him?"
The O.C.
"- Since, I don't know, all summer. - And you didn't tell me?"
The O.C.
"Okay. But God, that is so hot."
The O.C.
"No, he's great. It's just..."
The O.C.
"He's the yard guy."
The O.C.
"He left. And suddenly there was a hot, hot yard guy in the yard, who is hot."
The O.C.
"So you really didn't do anything wrong."
The O.C.
"Two coffees, please, black."
The O.C.
"You're going to lose that hand, Sanford."
The O.C.
"Since the DA's office finally decided they had enough to indict me."
The O.C.
"So what did they finally decide to charge you with?"
The O.C.
"Oh, that's a new one."
The O.C.
"Is there any truth in it?"
The O.C.
"Please. Why would I need to bribe anyone, hmm?"
The O.C.
"- Oh, yeah, I own this town. - Sure you do. You bought it."
The O.C.
"What they do have, however, are documents:"
The O.C.
"Well, how, how is that possible?"
The O.C.
"I don't know."
The O.C.
"How?"
The O.C.
"- Yeah, okay, sorry I'm late. - No, no, you're right on time, buddy."
The O.C.
"We're just getting started. Ryan, would you please take the minutes?"
The O.C.
"- Seth, it's just us. - Yeah, uh-huh, write that down."
The O.C.
"Members include Seth Cohen... present."
The O.C.
"Present. Seth, if it's just you and me, can we maybe do this at home?"
The O.C.
"Yeah, we could, but then we wouldn't get our pictures in the yearbook."
The O.C.
"Maybe you couldn't undermine me in front of the league. What about that?"
The O.C.
"Hey, I'm here for the comic book club."
The O.C.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
The O.C.
"- Um, because you're on the water polo team? - What's that supposed to mean?"
The O.C.
"Okay, you want to talk comics, guy, let's talk comics."
The O.C.
"- What day of the week do new comic books come out on? - Wednesday."
The O.C.
"- Superman. This guy, he's too perfect, guy. - No."
The O.C.
"He seems perfect, but he's not."
The O.C.
"And this is a guy who could take over the world if he wanted, but he doesn't."
The O.C.
"He just keeps helping people. Why would he do that, you know?"
The O.C.
"Unless he was trying to make a connection."
The O.C.
"- From now on we'll meet up every Wednesday... - Yes."
The O.C.
"- Hit the comic book store. - Yes."
The O.C.
"I'll hit you with those Green Lantern JPEGs, all right?"
The O.C.
"- Dude, I love that guy. - Yeah."
The O.C.
"Yeah, that's because he's me. You see what she's doing, don't you?"
The O.C.
"- What, you think Zach is... - Yeah, I actually do... Look at him!"
The O.C.
"He's like, what, the conventionally attractive, you know,"
The O.C.
"athletic, confident, just, completely non-neurotic,"
The O.C.
"Damn, I am definitely not in Chino anymore."
The O.C.
"So you weren't really a couple? I mean, you never..."
The O.C.
"Uh, no. I'm not dating anybody."
The O.C.
"Okay, so if you're not dating anyone,"
The O.C.
"maybe you would want to go to the kickoff carnival with me tomorrow?"
The O.C.
"Because my last boyfriend was afraid of heights."
The O.C.
"Come on, I can't wait for you to see the rest of the house."
The O.C.
"- You got a job? - No, it's not just a job."
The O.C.
"- Hailey... - In sales."
The O.C.
"Hailey!"
The O.C.
"- In Japan. - Oy!"
The O.C.
"How's Jimmy doing with that?"
The O.C.
"He's great. He doesn't know."
The O.C.
"He's making so much money on the market that all he wants to do is drink and sail and go to Cabo."
The O.C.
"- I'm too young for early retirement. - And you're too old to keep running away."
The O.C.
"I'm not running this time."
The O.C.
"stuck."
The O.C.
"He loves you."
The O.C.
"I love him, too."
The O.C.
"Then you have to tell him."
The O.C.
"- I can walk on my own, you know. - Yeah, when you're not drunk."
The O.C.
"Oh, no, you're all right. You're fine."
The O.C.
"What's the matter with him? Is he all right?"
The O.C.
"Did he have a stroke?"
The O.C.
"He, uh, had a bottle of scotch."
The O.C.
"- You got him drunk? - No, I took him to lunch to try to get him sober."
The O.C.
"Somebody tell me what's going on."
The O.C.
"- Cal. - I'm going to bed."
The O.C.
"The pleasure was all yours, Sanford. Enjoy."
The O.C.
