Clips from Riverdale (2017) - Chapter Seventy-Three: The Locked Room (S04E04)

"as you watched him jump."
Riverdale (2017)
"Call an ambulance!"
Riverdale (2017)
"I just couldn't shake it."
Riverdale (2017)
"That's when I knew there was a deeper game afoot."
Riverdale (2017)
"No, Chipping suicided 'cause he was messing around with Donna,"
Riverdale (2017)
"she ended it, and he short-circuited."
Riverdale (2017)
"Except..."
Riverdale (2017)
"they never really had a physical relationship."
Riverdale (2017)
"Isn't that right, Donna?"
Riverdale (2017)
"We had an affair and it got out of hand."
Riverdale (2017)
"Mmm-hmm."
Riverdale (2017)
"Yes, an affair that went down exactly"
Riverdale (2017)
"-Uh... -Except, I looked into it and..."
Riverdale (2017)
"turns out there is no Mr. Kotter."
Riverdale (2017)
"-Rupert, Rupert had demons. -Oh, he did."
Riverdale (2017)
"Yeah, she said that he had been drinking more."
Riverdale (2017)
"And having trouble sleeping."
Riverdale (2017)
"...complaining about the Baxter Brothersbooks."
Riverdale (2017)
"Wishing he'd never gotten the contract."
Riverdale (2017)
"So then, we started to ask ourselves,"
Riverdale (2017)
"what would turn the opportunity of a lifetime,"
Riverdale (2017)
"winning the Baxter Brothers contract, into a burden?"
Riverdale (2017)
"Your ghostwriter challenge was to devise the perfect murder."
Riverdale (2017)
"What if the real challenge,"
Riverdale (2017)
"the real price that someone had to pay was to commit the perfect murder?"
Riverdale (2017)
"In order to prove that you could write it, first you had to do it."
Riverdale (2017)
"I mean, it kind of makes a twisted, pathological sense, no?"
Riverdale (2017)
"And that's what was tormenting Mr. Chipping."
Riverdale (2017)
"The guilt of what he had done,"
Riverdale (2017)
"the blood that he had shed, in order to win the contract."
Riverdale (2017)
"Mr. Chipping invited Moose to Stonewall Prep to be the next victim."
Riverdale (2017)
"To be killed by the next ghostwriter. One of you."
Riverdale (2017)
"And Moose was the perfect candidate."
Riverdale (2017)
"I mean, he was a messed-up kid, he had no family,"
Riverdale (2017)
"he couldn't handle the stresses of life."
Riverdale (2017)
"After my dad was arrested for impersonating the Gargoyle King,"
Riverdale (2017)
"it, uh, kinda blew up my life, my family, everything."
Riverdale (2017)
"I even ended up in a facility for a couple of months."
Riverdale (2017)
"Chipping ran Moose out of town."
Riverdale (2017)
"You said it yourself."
Riverdale (2017)
"Good, you remember."
Riverdale (2017)
"Okay, we think Chipping couldn't go through with it."
Riverdale (2017)
"And-or, maybe he just wanted to atone for what he had done."
Riverdale (2017)
"I mean, whatever the reason."
Riverdale (2017)
"He ran Moose the hell away from Stonewall Prep"
Riverdale (2017)
"and then killed himself, it was his only escape."
Riverdale (2017)
"Pure demented conjecture."
Riverdale (2017)
"Well, yes and no. Chipping's behavior is hypothesis, but if proven,"
Riverdale (2017)
"it shows a pattern of how the previous ghostwriters won their contract."
Riverdale (2017)
"Same year, same month as Chipping was awarded his contract,"
Riverdale (2017)
"a Stonewall student disappeared."
Riverdale (2017)
"One of the so-called Stonewall Four."
Riverdale (2017)
"We believe this student was murdered by Mr. Chipping."
Riverdale (2017)
"Ryan Allan, the previous ghostwriter,"
Riverdale (2017)
"who took up the mantle the same month"
Riverdale (2017)
"another one of the Stonewall Four disappeared."
Riverdale (2017)
"The sequence holds true for every ghostwriter who preceded them."
Riverdale (2017)
"It's... It's actually incredibly simple."
Riverdale (2017)
"Which brings us to a couple months ago, when I was awarded the contract."
Riverdale (2017)
"But why?"
Riverdale (2017)
"To put a target on my back."
Riverdale (2017)
"Probably because I was already circling the truth,"
Riverdale (2017)
"so he gave you guys a new challenge."
Riverdale (2017)
"To commit the perfect murder, against me,"
Riverdale (2017)
"[Betty] So, the million dollar question is..."
Riverdale (2017)
"who was going to kill Jughead? And how?"
Riverdale (2017)
"So, which one of you heartless bastards killed me?"
Riverdale (2017)
"It was actually Mr. DuPont that gave me a clue."
Riverdale (2017)
"When I asked who had re-written my Baxter Brothers novel,"
Riverdale (2017)
"you told me they all had a crack at it."
Riverdale (2017)
"[chuckles] Well, actually, all of your classmates collaborated on it."
Riverdale (2017)
"And that suggested to me that each one of you had a hand in my murder."
Riverdale (2017)
"-Oh, this should be good. -Donna, you kept Betty busy."
Riverdale (2017)
"Oh, good, you made it."
Riverdale (2017)
"[Jughead] Bret, you led me deeper into the woods,"
Riverdale (2017)
"where I took off the bunny mask I was wearing and put on my beanie."
Riverdale (2017)
"And was it that beanie that kept my head from being completely cracked open"
Riverdale (2017)
"when Joan crept up behind me..."
Riverdale (2017)
"and hit me with a baseball-sized rock?"
Riverdale (2017)
"What? How do you know it was me? Why couldn't it have been Jonathan?"
Riverdale (2017)
"Well, I don't recall Jonathan wearing your perfume."
Riverdale (2017)
"Yeah, where... Where is Jonathan again?"
Riverdale (2017)
"Or did you kill him because he started to develop a conscience?"
Riverdale (2017)
"He had food poisoning, he still has food poisoning."
Riverdale (2017)
"Okay, Jonathan aside,"
Riverdale (2017)
"you had a fool-proof plan, air-tight alibis."
Riverdale (2017)
"-Why? -Because in all your plotting,"
Riverdale (2017)
"all of your lurid conspiring and your brilliance,"
Riverdale (2017)
"you didn't kill me."
Riverdale (2017)
"I mean, whose job was it to check my pulse?"
Riverdale (2017)
"Jonathan!"
Riverdale (2017)
"[Jughead exhales sharply]"
Riverdale (2017)
"Oh, you Einsteins."
Riverdale (2017)
"All you had to do was hit me in the back of the head hard enough with a rock."
Riverdale (2017)
"You failed spectacularly."
Riverdale (2017)
"Yeah, meanwhile, Donna was blowing Devil's Breath in my face"
Riverdale (2017)
"to set me up as the ultimate fall-girl."
Riverdale (2017)
"Devil's Breath? Really?"
Riverdale (2017)
"Yeah, the technical term being scopolamine,"
Riverdale (2017)
"which leaves a person highly suggestive and in a drunken state."
Riverdale (2017)
"Which is why I don't remember when Donna led me into the clearing"
Riverdale (2017)
"where Jughead's body was and placed the bloody rock in my hand,"
Riverdale (2017)
"leaving me literally red-handed with the murder weapon."
Riverdale (2017)
"After which, the four of you returned to the party"
Riverdale (2017)
"Hey, have you guys seen Betty and Jughead?"
Riverdale (2017)
"I think they went that way,"
Riverdale (2017)
"Thanks."
Riverdale (2017)
"Standing over Jughead's corpse."
Riverdale (2017)
"At which point, one of two scenarios could've played out."
Riverdale (2017)
"One, Archie and Veronica could turn me in."
Riverdale (2017)
"Either way, I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't."
Riverdale (2017)
"But honestly, you guys could've gotten away with it too."
Riverdale (2017)
"Yeah, except, again..."
Riverdale (2017)
"You guys didn't kill me."
Riverdale (2017)
"-Archie... -Oh, my God. Oh, my God."
Riverdale (2017)
"Betty, what happened?"
Riverdale (2017)
"All right, start pounding on his chest. Right now, okay?"
Riverdale (2017)
"Vee, use the beanie to stop the bleeding."
Riverdale (2017)
"Go, one, two, three, four, five."
Riverdale (2017)
"-Come on, Jug. -[Archie] ...four, five..."
