Clips from The O.C. - The Truth (S01E01)
"Luke, help me convince Marissa to come to Mammoth with us."
The O.C.
"That way I'll be there, and you won't even have to think about Ryan."
The O.C.
"Look, this is probably her now, already checking up on me."
The O.C.
"- It's Ryan, isn't it? - You're not gonna get it?"
The O.C.
"- She's not talking to Ryan. - Is she talking to me?"
The O.C.
"- Marissa... - I should probably just go."
The O.C.
"- But I would never presume to... - I know. It's okay. Really."
The O.C.
"So I'll meet you in the library after school, and I hope..."
The O.C.
"I'll see you there."
The O.C.
"To save the message, press two. To erase the message, press three."
The O.C.
"You think it's cool if we do the comics run tomorrow?"
The O.C.
"I thought it'd be better if I went home to check on Ryan."
The O.C.
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Do you want some company?"
The O.C.
"- Hey. Where are you guys going? - Well, we were talking about..."
The O.C.
"To the comic-book store?"
The O.C.
"You do?"
The O.C.
"Believe it or not, Betty and Veronica had a huge influence on me."
The O.C.
"Besides, Marissa has Oliver now..."
The O.C.
"- You'll spend it with us. - Yeah."
The O.C.
"Except, don't you have to go check on Ryan?"
The O.C.
"Hey. What are you doing here?"
The O.C.
"- In front of God, Dr. Kim and everyone? - She's not taking my calls."
The O.C.
"Does Marissa know about this?"
The O.C.
"You'd think you, of all people, would believe me."
The O.C.
"Ryan, Marissa's a big girl."
The O.C.
"Oliver's not stable. He's dangerous. One girl got a restraining order against him."
The O.C.
"Natalie? Either she lives in Niagara Falls or doesn't exist."
The O.C.
"Okay. Okay. Fine. He's crazy."
The O.C.
"But this Mission: Impossible act you're pulling..."
The O.C.
"...it's not the way to make your case. - I have to go."
The O.C.
"She asked me to tell you not to call her anymore and not to try and see her."
The O.C.
"If you do, she'll get a restraining order against you."
The O.C.
"- You beat up one of her best friends. - I'd do it again too. Right now."
The O.C.
"I could've pressed charges, but I didn't. I'm trying to help you."
The O.C.
"But if you keep this up, no one's gonna be able to save you."
The O.C.
"Hey, Oliver."
The O.C.
"It hasn't even begun."
The O.C.
"I need my office back by the end of the day, Brian."
The O.C.
"- In the meantime, I have no place to work. - Yeah, I have no place to eat."
The O.C.
"You can't talk to Julie Cooper. She's Julie Cooper."
The O.C.
"Talk to your dad. He's the reason she's there."
The O.C.
"You don't mind if I work out of the house, do you?"
The O.C.
"- Sorry, I thought if there was coffee... - Oh, Ryan, come on in."
The O.C.
"There's coffee and cereal and..."
The O.C.
"Yeah. Okay. Thanks."
The O.C.
"- Julie. - We could carpool from now on."
The O.C.
"We're next door. Have you read the latest EPA figures?"
The O.C.
"What we're doing to the environment? Sandy, I can see you hiding."
The O.C.
"Not hiding, Julie. Just making myself presentable."
The O.C.
"- Don't go to any trouble for me. - Don't worry."
The O.C.
"Kirsten, you're still not dressed."
The O.C.
"Yes, well, I was planning on working from the house today, since my office is still..."
The O.C.
"...to talk about the thing?"
The O.C.
"- It can wait. - So can Julie. Grab a shower."
The O.C.
"Go ahead. Go."
The O.C.
"I guess you and Marissa haven't talked in a while."
The O.C.
"She will?"
The O.C.
"I guess you and Marissa haven't talked in a while."
The O.C.
"Look, I know you and I haven't always agreed when it comes to Marissa..."
The O.C.
"...but I'm asking you, please, keep her away from this kid Oliver."
The O.C.
"He's not well."
The O.C.
"Really?"
The O.C.
"The boy who lives in the pool house is warning me..."
The O.C.
"...about the boy who lives in the penthouse?"
The O.C.
"He's got this thing that he does."
The O.C.
"It's true. You can ask Marissa."
The O.C.
"- Julie, you ready? - Yeah."
The O.C.
"Stay out of trouble, Ryan."
The O.C.
"I try not to talk to my mom as much as possible."
The O.C.
"Look, if you don't want to hang out with me this weekend, that's fine."
The O.C.
"I do want to hang out with you."
The O.C.
"...school, therapy, my mom, and hang out with you."
The O.C.
"- But I've got so... - You mean it?"
The O.C.
"We can have lunch at the Ivy, do the Getty, swing by the Troubadour."
The O.C.
"- Come on. You know you want to. - Stop it."
The O.C.
"- What about therapy? - Oh, you don't need therapy."
The O.C.
"- You've met Natalie, right? - Oliver's ex, Natalie?"
The O.C.
"No. You?"
The O.C.
"Oliver said she went to Pacific, right? I've got friends there. I can just ask."
The O.C.
"- Dad, do you have a minute? - Exactly one."
The O.C.
"It's about Julie."
The O.C.
"Close the door."
The O.C.
"- Excuse me? - Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the woman."
The O.C.
"Well, it worked. Now she doesn't have to call you. She's always here."
The O.C.
"Which is why I want you to talk to her. I know she's your friend..."
The O.C.
"...but in the interest of the business, not to mention your father's sanity..."
The O.C.
"...this has to end."
The O.C.
"Hey."
The O.C.
"Summer is about to read her first comic. I knew you wouldn't want to miss that."
The O.C.
"Let me know how it goes."
The O.C.
"Why don't you invite over Oliver?"
The O.C.
"- Where's Ryan? - I invited him to join us..."
The O.C.
"...but he's staying in the Fortress of Solitude."
The O.C.
"So I'm gonna start you off with some basics:"
The O.C.
"Watchman and The Sandman."
The O.C.
"Enjoy."
The O.C.
"- Like what? - Like the Archies?"
The O.C.
"Hey, I'm with Anna. Life's gritty enough. Comic books are for fun."
The O.C.
"- Hey, Mr. Cohen? - Yes?"
The O.C.
"Did you read comic books when you were a kid?"
The O.C.
"Especially one who loves Death Cab and sailing."
The O.C.
"- I thought I was the only one. - I thought Seth was the only one."
The O.C.
"- Can you help me with the groceries? - Yeah, yeah. In a minute."
The O.C.
"So I guess you and Mrs. Cohen have a lot in common, huh?"
The O.C.
"Well, then what do you think is the key to a successful relationship?"
The O.C.
"The sooner we get the bags, the sooner we eat."
The O.C.
"Hey, Dad. Is it cool if Summer stays for dinner?"
The O.C.
"- Come on, man. What are you doing? - What are you doing?"
The O.C.
"These are crazy people."
The O.C.
"Luke! What are you doing here? Besides relieving me of grocery duty."
The O.C.
"I hadn't seen Ryan in a while, so I thought I'd stop by and say hey."
The O.C.
"Is that okay?"
The O.C.
"- But there's something you should know. - What?"
The O.C.
"And I'm sure she's probably fine, right? But there's something about that kid."
The O.C.
"So I went over to Pacific after school."
The O.C.
"I figured I'd ask what they knew."
The O.C.
"What was he like when he went to Pacific?"
The O.C.
"At least not at Pacific High."
The O.C.
"- Are you sure it's okay that I'm staying? - Oh, absolutely."
The O.C.
"We have more than enough for everybody."
The O.C.
